Stereotaxis has launched V-Sono intracardiac echocardiography manipulator module for Vdrive remote navigation system in Europe.
Vdrive platform is designed for handling accessory devices such as steerable sheaths, ultrasound catheters and variable loop catheters.
Vdrive platform unites magnetic navigation with the Odyssey information management system to bring control during catheter-based EP procedures.
The company said a patient was treated for a complex left persistent atrial fibrillation using the V-Sono module.
Herz und Diabeteszentrum Klinik fur Kardiologie spokesperson Georg Nolker said intracardiac Echo has been long established to provide patient safety and cardiac visualization without radiation.
"This new robotic control makes intracardiac echo more stable, precise, and easier to use in a way that has not been previously available," Nolker added.
