Starlims Technologies, an Abbott company, has purchased its longtime distribution partners to build laboratory information management system (LIMS) business in Europe, Latin America and Africa.
Starlims’ longtime distribution partners include Varilab, Starlims’s French distributor, a privately held Dutch company, now operating as Starlims Netherlands and the business of its Israeli distribution partner, Starlims Israel.
Starlims has also formed Starlims Germany, with offices in Witten, Germany, to provide direct support for its German and Swiss customers.
Abbott Starlims businessess head Isaac Friedman said with these acquisitions, the company now have more than 100 experienced LIMS engineers in the region allowing it to better serve the fast-growing European customer base and further strengthen its position as a leading provider of LIMS in Europe and other important markets.
