St Jude Medical is set to broaden its current building in Plymouth, Minnesota, US, to accommodate cardiovascular division growth plans.

The current building in Plymouth is comprised of 205,000 ft² of space located on 26 acres of land which formerly served as the headquarters of AGA Medical which was purchased by St. Jude Medical in 2010.

The company will add 275,000 ft² to its current building in Plymouth and is expected to close the construction during 2013.

St Jude Medical Cardiovascular Division president Frank Callaghan said this expansion is considered as a consolidation and space solution for the company, but also acknowledges a need for adequate space to house our growing business in the years ahead.

The company also plans for long-term growth at the Plymouth Campus with additional site upgrades.

Atrial Fibrillation division site headquarters in Little Canada can also be broadened in the future, St Jude says.
