St Jude Medical has introduced EnligHTN renal denervation system for the treatment of hypertension in Europe.
By utilizing the EnligHTN system, an ablation catheter delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy to create lesions along the renal sympathetic nerves which helps to regulate pressure.
The company, in addition to the EnligHTN system launch, is exhibiting data from ARSENAL trial at EuroPCR.
ARSENAL is a prospective, multi-center study which is designed to study the safety and efficacy of EnligHTN renal denervation system.
EnligHTN I trial primary investigator Stephen Worthley said, "The multi-electrode renal denervation system provides an efficient and effective alternative treatment for patients with resistant hypertension, and has the possibility to change the way that hypertension is treated."
