The CentraCare will use iSirona’s device connectivity technology to transfer patient data from ventilators throughout the hospital into its Epic electronic medical record (EMR).

A collaborative network of Central Minnesota healthcare providers, CentraCare comprises three hospitals, four long-term care facilities, and nearly a dozen clinics and numerous specialty care services.

CentraCare CIO Amy Porwoll said device connectivity is a software solution, so it allows them to use their existing infrastructure and doesn’t require proprietary hardware or special cabling.

CentraCare project manager Ken Benning said moving forward, they will definitely consider how to best use this technology to integrate additional medical devices hospital-wide.
