As per the measure, physicians would be allowed to use telemedicine technology only with established patients. The ministry will evaluate public opinion on the measure by August 17, 2009 and submit a revision bill to the National Assembly in October 2009.
The proposed Medical Law also plans to permit mergers between medical corporations. The current law has clauses about mergers of educational foundations and social welfare foundations, but not medical corporations.
