Health Canada has granted an approval to Solta Medical's second generation LipoSonix system.
The system utilizes high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technology to permanently remove excess fat just beneath the abdomen and flanks skin through a noninvasive, nonsurgical procedure.
Solta Medical chairman, president & CEO Stephen Fanning said with the Health Canada clearance, they are positioned to expand their commercial launch activities in North America to include Canada.
The company’s other productscategories includes CLARO and Clear + Brilliant, Fraxel, Isolaz and Thermage.
