Smiths Medical, a global medical device manufacturer, is set to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary in Mumbai, India.
Ashwin Benegal has been appointed as the general manager.
Benegal joined Smiths Medical in 2008 and brings with him more than 15 years of medical device experience, having worked in several large multi-national corporations.
Smiths Medical president Srini Seshadri said by creating an Indian subsidiary, they are demonstrating their commitment to investing in this market, growing their business and becoming part of the fabric of the regional health care community.
Smiths Medical Global Sales & Marketing vice president Stuart Morris-Hipkins said they intend to invest in sales, marketing, R&D and product development geared towards the Indian market.
