The passive device, Jelco IntuitIV Safety IV catheter, features a guide needle with a cylindrical tip protector which automatically encapsulates the guide needle tip upon removing from the patient’s blood vessel.
In addition, the safety device includes a length of tubing and an access port through which fluid or medication is delivered to a patient’s bloodstream.
