Siemens Healthcare is set to launch FAST CARE, a new technology platform for CT, for patients to benefit from shorter examination times and lower dose.
Siemens Healthcare said the platform allows for simpler image acquisition, preparation, reconstruction and diagnosis to also improve CT operator workflow.
FAST CARE combines two main features like Fully Assisting Scanner Technologies (FAST) to optimise scanning efficiency and Combined Applications to Reduce Exposure (CARE) for dose reduction.
Siemens Healthcare CT product manager Russell Lodge said FAST CARE is the first platform to combine reduced dose with optimised functionality for CT.
"The new technology will help improve workflow efficiency and simplify processes for radiographers. With dose reduction features, patients will receive more efficient treatment at the lowest possible dose without affecting imaging quality," Lodge said.
FAST applications include FAST Planning, FAST Cardio Wizard, FAST Scan Assistant, FAST Scan Adjust and FAST Spine.
CARE applications include CARE Profile, CARE Dashboard, CARE Child and CARE kV application.
