Shore Medical Center, a provider of healthcare services, has selected Toshiba America Medical Systems' 80-detector row CT system for use in its all general and outpatient radiology exams.

Creating160 unique slices per rotation, the Aquilion PRIME system uses AIDR 3D, the company’s third-generation iterative dose reconstruction software which includes an easy to implement iterative reconstruction process for reducing radiation doses.

Shore Medical Center CT supervisor Kerry Raymond said, "Many of our patients are concerned about radiation and our new Aquilion PRIME helps put them at ease."

Toshiba CT business unit senior director Satrajit Misra said the company develops technologies to improve diagnoses and patient safety, and make exams easier for its customers.

"In addition, patient-friendly features like a 78-cm gantry and high table-weight limit help streamline exams for facilities and improve quality of life for patients," Misra added.
