Sentinel Diagnostics has rolled out a fully automated sample to result system called SENTiNAT 200 and STAT-NAT SN200 Real-Time PCR assays for quantitatively detecting 10 viruses.

According to the Italy-based firm, the SENTiNAT 200 and STAT-NAT SN200 kits are intended for mid to large-throughput laboratories that diagnose viral infections. Sentinel Diagnostics said that both the products are CE-IVDR and CE-IVD marked, respectively.

SENTiNAT 200 is said to be a compact platform with two integrated thermal cyclers and an analysis software called FastFinder for DNA/RNA extraction, PCR setup, and amplification.

Sentinel Diagnostics said that the system combines throughput, flexibility, and automation as per the needs of the laboratory. It can carry out the multiparametric analysis of up to 15 viruses in the same test run, processing from one up to 48 samples in four hours.

Designed to work with STAT-NAT SN200 kits, the SENTiNAT 200 system is equipped with an intuitive software that guides the operator in instrument setup. The system has a barcode reader for samples and reagents that help to minimise human error.

The operator is said to have complete control over the outcomes due to the access to the data that is stored in the cloud from any location, and at any time.

Sentinel Diagnostics sales and marketing head Marco Buonaguidi said: “We developed the SENTiNAT 200 and STAT-NAT SN200 kits, all CE-marked, to offer a complete solution, that simplifies the routine activities of virology laboratories, including those dedicated to transplant patient.

“Today, we take a first step on a path that will see us committed to developing new parameters to satisfy the most challenging requests of our clients in molecular diagnostics.”

The STAT-NAT SN200 PCR assays use freeze-dried patented technology for long-term stability at room temperature to make the assays stronger and to enable streamlining of the reagent management in the lab, said Sentinel Diagnostics.
