Sectra has entered into an agreement to provide its picture archiving and communication system (PACS) to four healthcare providers based in Kitsap Peninsula,Washington State, US.

Under the agreement, the healthcare providers including Harrison Medical Center, Advanced Medical Imaging, Olympic Radiology Associates, and The Doctors Clinic, will use PACS in their 17 outpatient imaging centers.

The medical imaging technology, PACS, helps users to have access to necessary patient information, through a virtual database, regardless of where it originated.

Harrison Medical Center executive vice president and chief administrative officer Adar Palis said this agreement provides a single, standard platform from which to securely share radiological images, such as CT scans and x-rays, among the local medical community.

"It is a necessary element to further our mission of providing exceptional patient care throughout the peninsula," Palis added.

Sectra president Mikael Anden said, "Cooperation between entities resulting in a reduced cost per exam will help to ensure the financial success of these providers."
