Satellite Healthcare, a provider of kidney dialysis services and a sponsor of nephrology research, has reported the opening of a new Satellite dialysis center in Merced, California. The new center adds to Satellite Healthcare's expanding dialysis services throughout California.

Satellite’s new center has been equipped with 25 dialysis stations and a peritoneal Dialysis area. Peritoneal Dialysis therapy allows the patient to perform dialysis at home with the support of the Merced staff.

The center will be managed by professional nurses, dietitians, social workers and technicians that are trained for CKD patient care.

Daniel Ikemiyashiro, physician partner for Satellite Dialysis of Merced, said: “As a medical provider and local Nephrologist in this community I am very excited in having Satellite Dialysis opening a new facility in Merced. It will give my patients more options to choose from and improve their quality of life, and having the experience with this company in other cities and in their process to come to Merced I am very confident that they will not be disappointed.”

Rosemary Fox, vice president and COO of dialysis services at Satellite Healthcare, said: “Satellite Dialysis is an in-center dialysis program that is focused on quality outcomes and personalized care for those who have Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Our continued growth in California adds to our expanding presence nationwide, and allows Satellite Dialysis to reach and assist more patients. We’re excited to be opening this new Central Valley center in Merced, CA.”
