Ingenia 1.5T S integrates fat-free and motion-free imaging techniques and patient-centric workflow, as well as features patient in-bore solution that offers a comforting and engaging visual distraction, according to Philips.

The new system also comprises AutoVoice that provide clear instructions and coach the patients, while the automated and intelligent iPatient platform helps in quick patient setup. Its premium IQ imaging, powered by dStream, offers faster and better imaging.

Philips imaging systems executive vice-president and CEO Gene Saragnese said: "MRI scans can be very uncomfortable for patients, and we’re designing solutions that can tackle the issue in two ways: reducing the patient’s anxiety, and generating higher quality results the first time around.

"Our goal is to enhance the patient experience, while equipping clinicians with the best technology to improve diagnosis."

Ingenia 1.5T S is the newest addition to the Ingenia product line and will be showcased at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting, which is scheduled to conclude on 5 December.
