The AOAC Research Institute (AOAC-RI) has granted AOAC performance tested methods certification to Roka Bioscience's Atlas salmonella detection assay.
The Atlas salmonella detection assay runs on an automated molecular instrument, Atlas system, to detect pathogens in food and environmental samples.
The instrument uses a three-step procedure – enrich, transfer, automate – and process over 300 samples in 8 hours.
The company said it has also received AOAC-RI certification for its Atlas listeria detection assay in January 2012.
