RISO provides external beam treatments and is specialized in brachytherapy for prostate cancer.
RISO will use RayStation as its treatment planning system for conventional 3D-CRT treatments as well as more advanced treatments such as IMRT.
The order includes functionality covering the full spectrum from all the necessary basic tools needed for patient segmentation and creation of conventional 3D-CRT plans, to advanced tools enabling a more efficient treatment planning process.
RayStation integrates all RaySearch’s advanced treatment planning solutions into a flexible treatment planning system.
It combines features such as multi-criteria optimization tools with full support for 4D adaptive radiation therapy.
It also includes functionality such as RaySearch’s algorithms for IMRT and VMAT optimization and dose engines for both photon and proton therapy.
RISO is planning to start using the system clinically later in 2011.
