Restoration Robotics, a developer of image-guided technology solutions, has completed treating first patient using its Artas system to treat hair loss.
The FDA cleared Artas system is a physician controlled, interactive, computer assisted technology that allows safe and effective follicular unit extraction (FUE).
The interactive system uses image guided technology to enhance the quality of hair follicle harvesting for the benefit of physicians and their patients.
Hair Sciences Center MD James Harris said surgeons will now be able to shorten the learning curve required to FUE technique, deliver consistent and quality results, and meet the demand by patients seeking less invasive hair restoration options.
Restoration Robotics CEO Jim McCollum said they are focused on a controlled rollout to core specialty physicians, an effort that will be accompanied by educational support and technical training to ensure the patient care.
