Restoration Robotics has obtained a medical device license to commercialize its Artas system in Canada.

The physician controlled Artas system utilizes image guided technology and precision robotics to help deliver safe, consistent and natural looking results for patients.

The Artas system facilitates physician to quickly identify and harvest healthy follicular units directly from the patient’s scalp during hair transplantation.

Restoration Robotics medical director Miguel Canales said many patients are seeking less invasive alternatives to the current hair restoration techniques.

"There is a growing interest in the Artas procedure because of its many patient benefits, such as less discomfort and a quicker return to normal activities," Canales added.
