Reston Hospital Center, a HCA Virginia health system hospital, has purchased Mazor Robotics' Renaissance system.

Renaissance, a robotic surgical guidance system, is designed to be used during performing spine surgeries.

Reston Hospital Center provides medical and surgical services and serves 157 hospitals and more than 100 freestanding surgery centers in 20 states and London, England.

Mazor Robotics chief executive officer Ori Hadomi said Reston Hospital Center and the local geographic region are known for adopting technologies that improve patient care.

"We are proud that this marks our first installation in the prestigious HCA healthcare network," Hadomi added.
