The RainDrop Plus Digital PCR System features faster droplet detection, higher throughput, and new automated analysis capabilities.

The company's new picodroplet technology allows profiling and monitoring cell-free and cell-based biomarkers for variant detection, clonal evolution tracking, and minimal residual disease monitoring applications.

The system delivers enhanced sensitivity with six log dynamic range by generating millions of highly uniform five picoliter droplet reactions per sample.

It also features new analysis software, which streamlines turnaround time, increases throughput and automates data analysis.

The company is showcasing the new digital PCR system at the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) 2016 Annual Meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is being held from 9 to 12 November.

RainDance Technologies co-founder and chief technology officer Dr Darren Link said: “RainDance has worked closely with our customers in recent years to push the lower limits of detection and achieve levels of sensitivity and precision never before possible.

“The new RainDrop Plus enables researchers to harness this new level of sensitivity and perform experiments faster and easier than ever before.”

RainDance has developed proprietary droplet technology, which enables research in areas such as novel non-invasive liquid biopsy.
