The QBC STAR measures nine important CBC hematological parameters from venous or capillary blood samples: hematocrit, hemoglobin, MCHC (mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration), platelet count, white blood cell count, granulocyte count and percentage, and lymphocyte/monocyte count and percentage.

The QBC STAR uses its patented dry hematology approach, which eliminates the need for liquid reagents in the system.

All of the reagents needed to perform a CBC test with the QBC STAR System are contained in the QBC STAR Tube.

After filling the tube with the blood sample, the clinician simply places it in the specially designed QBC STAR System and obtains the test results after the analysis is complete.

QBC Diagnostics said the system provides multiple benefits which include eliminating the liquid biohazard wastes and the need for user calibration and routine maintenance.
