Digital health firm Qardio has introduced new wearable medical electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) monitor, QardioCore.

QardiCore is claimed to be the first wearable ECG monitor that will enable users to proactively look after their heart health in long-term without the support of wires or patches.

Featuring an advanced sensor technology, QardioCore holds capacity to record around 20 million data points and stream the user's live medical-grade data to their smartphones

ECG monitors can feel the tiny electrical charges on the skin arising from the heart muscle's electrophysiological activity.

QardioCore has been developed for continuous monitoring at anytime time from any place. It is worn as a chest strap to record continuous ECG, heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, temperature and activity data.

Later, the data can be automatically shared with medical professionals. It can be paired with free Qardio App for iOS, as well as works with iPhone, iPad, iPod and Apple Health.

QardioCore also works with other firm’s products such as QardiArm smart blood pressure monitor, QardioBase wireless scale and body analyzer, as well as QardioMD dashboard for doctors.

Qardio CTO Rosario Iannella said: "Cardiovascular health is the biggest health challenge in the developed world and with QardioCore, we make it easier, better and more cost-effective for everyone.

“The ability to view and analyze such important data remotely and in context, as it is being generated, can substantially enhance the diagnostic yield.

“QardioCore is a game-changer for doctors, patients and health conscious individuals, and a big step towards preventative health.”
