PreXion, a provider of 3D Cone Beam Imaging systems for dentistry, said that its latest 3D Software is integrated with new implant planning tools that allow clinicians to easily locate and mark the mandibular canal, nerves and place virtual implants immediately showing up in the 3D, axial, coronal and sagital views, visualizing patient's anatomy with accuracy and precision.

PreXion said that this will be done chair-side with the patient within moments of completing the 3D CBCT scan and will enhance patient consultations and treatment acceptance. Once the treatment planning has been completed, the work can be saved and referred to at a later date.

The implant planning and canal marking tools come with standard implant sizes and shapes and also allows the importation of libraries of implant fixtures to ensure accurate planning and treatment.

The enhanced version of the PrexViewer software provides the capacity to quickly and easily download 3D and CT images to a CD for use by referring doctors. This is a functional version of PreXion’s powerful PreXion3D Volumetric Imaging software and allows referring doctors to manipulate the images, evaluate cases, plan treatments and use the images for patient consultations.

Keith Bateman, director of marketing at PreXion, said: “The new volumetric imaging software further enhances the power and flexibility of our industry leading software and high quality 3D CBCT images. It also demonstrates our commitment to listen to our customers, focus our R&D on their needs and maximize their investments in CBCT technology.”
