PositiveID is providing its iglucose mobile health system for diabetes management to rural healthcare providers.

The FDA-cleared iglucose system is designed to connect with existing glucometers to transmit blood glucose readings anytime, anywhere.

The iglucose system collects and transmits stored data from various blood glucose meters such as Johnson & Johnson LifeScan, Abbott FreeStyle, Bayer Contour and Nipro Diagnostic True monitoring systems.

By communicating glucose readings from a glucometer to the iglucose diabetes management portal, important data can be shared with family members, caregivers and healthcare professionals via text message, email or fax, or through the iglucose diabetes management portal itself.

PositiveID said iglucose will be demonstrated at the National Rural Health Association’s 35th Annual Rural Health Conference at the Hyatt Regency Denver, Colorado Convention Center, in conjunction with Merge-MD, a healthcare solutions provider, from 17-20 April 2012.
