Plexon, a provider of data acquisition systems, has introduced a new Optogenetic Stimulation System.

Optogenetics is a method of perturbing neural cells with specific wavelengths of light.

The company said brain researchers are able to turn certain cells on or off with a high level of specificity using a combined approach of special type of gene therapy coupled with the optogenetic.

Plexon president and founder Harvey Wiggins said the company is always looking for ways to provide researchers with the most advanced and reliable techniques.
