Royal Philips has unveiled multiple artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled medical imaging technologies and innovations to free up the time of healthcare providers and put their focus more on patient care.

Launched at the Radiology Conference & Annual Meeting 2023 (RSNA 2023), the solutions are intended to enhance the performance of the departments of radiologists and support patients with improved workflows, reduce procedure times, and drive user-friendly operations.

Philips’ innovations are designed for diagnostic imaging and enterprise informatics in hospitals and health systems to provide consistent accessible care to patients in a sustainable way.

The new solutions include next-generation ultrasound systems, a new mobile MRI system with helium-free operations, and new AI-enabled cloud solutions.

Philips’ new ultrasound systems EPIQ Elite 10.0 and Philips Affiniti are designed to improve diagnostic confidence and workflow efficiency.

The systems are said to offer a single user interface with automated tools and shared transducers to simplify complexity and improve user experience.

Among these, the Dutch health technology firm, BlueSeal MR Mobile is the world’s first and only mobile MRI system that does not need helium for operations.

BlueSeal MR Mobile has a 1.5T fully sealed magnet to deliver MRI services using less helium in comparison to a non-sealed magnet.

Furthermore, the Philips HealthSuite Imaging is a next generation cloud-based Philips Vue PACS, designed to enhance radiology efficiency and clinical confidence.

The health technology firm also introduced its Philips AI Manager solution which integrates with a customer’s IT infrastructure for more complete assessment and deeper clinical insights in the radiology workflow.

Philips precision diagnosis and image guided therapy chief business leader Bert van Meurs said: “Philips is teaming up with healthcare providers to optimise workflows so they can spend more time focusing on patients.

“The new innovations we’re unveiling here at RSNA provide a fully integrated AI-enabled diagnostic approach to help improve patient outcomes, optimize workflows and maximise lifetime value for our customers.”

At RSNA 20023, the Dutch company also plans to showcase the Philips Radiography 7000 M radiography solution, Philips Radiography 7300 C digital radiography system, and the next-generation of its Image Guided Therapy System – Azurion 7 B20/15 biplane configuration.
