PENTAX Medical has announced the US and Canadian launch of the endoPRO iQ 7.6, the company's newest version of its information technology (IT) and image management software for endoscopy units.

The new software promotes industry best practices for endoscopic documentation, reporting and analysis of quality, efficiency and equipment utilization data. Physicians and nursing staff are able to manage schedules and track patients and equipment from arrival to discharge.

The software, which fully supports both individual and double procedures, also archives procedure information, generates procedure and GI unit reports, easily captures and annotates procedure images and helps nurses to accurately and efficiently chart samples, vitals and medications.

The endoPRO iQ 7.6 is cross-platform compatible, easily interfaces with other clinical information and scheduling systems and integrates seamlessly into hospital information systems. The software’s new adaptive language engine produces written results the way physicians naturally speak.

PENTAX Medical, Americas, president David Woods noted that the company is committed to introducing both software and hardware innovations that enhance quality, boost efficiency and improve data management and security.

"The innovative features found in the endoPRO iQ 7.6 deliver on these important goals," Woods added.

PENTAX Medical will showcase the endoPRO iQ 7.6 platform at Digestive Disease Week (DDW) and the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Annual Meeting later May 2014.

The new software is designed, programmed and supported by the PENTAX Medical center of excellence for software in New Jersey and is certified under GIQuIC (GI Quality Improvement Consortium), a quality benchmarking registry co-sponsored by the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
