PDI Healthcare has introduced Prevantics device swab strip, which provides effective central line associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) protection.
Designed to hang from an IV pole, Prevantics device swab strip features eight swabs per strip and a hang tab.
The product’s five second scrub and five second dry time will improve staff compliance and reduce the risk of infection transmission.
According to the company, the swab contains 3.15% (w/v) Chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and 70% (v/v) Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution to receive 5109(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for disinfecting needleless access sites prior to use.
