Palomar Pomerado Health (PPH) has introduced MIAA, a mobile health-care application that will transform the way physicians receive information, and improve their medical judgments for patients.

MIAA – Medical Information, Anytime, Anywhere, represents the next generation of mobile wireless health care solutions, which enables physicians to immediately access a patient’s complete electronic health record, across organizational boundaries.

MIAA is a health information exchange, a portable viewer for information and data that can be shared between different organizations and caregivers and also incorporates real time vital signs from next generation wireless body area network platforms.

PPH chief medical informatics officer and pulmonologist Ben Kanter said MIAA is a mobile application to be developed by a health system in the US and this new technology will improve patient care by taming the complexity of health care, and reducing the current hassle inherent in a highly fragmented industry.

"Physicians who are on the go, at home or on call, will have the ability to access real time information in context. This will lead to more accurate medical judgments, ultimately improving patient care," Kanter said.
