OrthoSensor has entered into an agreement to provide its Knee Trial for use with Stryker Orthopaedics' Triathlon Knee System.

The Knee Trial is an intelligent trial with embeeded micro-electronics and sensors in single-use trial inserts which aids surgeons to receive a quantitative, intra-operative feedback and patients’ specific joint kinematics data to optimize joint balance during total knee arthroplasty.

The sensor wirelessly transmits the information to a graphic display of real-time feedback which facilitates surgeons to visualize and quantify joint loading and balance.

With this evidence, surgeons can make an informed choice to modify implant positioning, adjust leg alignment and optimize soft tissue balance through a full range of motion.

OrthoSensor CEO Jay Pierce said their intelligent surgical systems will provide surgeons, hospitals and health plans access to real-time data to improve patient care, measure clinical outcomes and lower costs related to treating musculoskeletal disease.
