On-X LTI noted that the system has been developed with its proprietary ePTFE suture, which will provide surgeons new tools to help simplify the procedure.

The system comprises Chord-X Chordal Sizer, which helps in accurate measurement of artificial chord length and Chord-X Pre-Measured Loops, developed to save OR time and standardize artificial chord replacement.

In addition, the system includes Chord-X Adjustable Suture System, which allows surgeons to adjust and customize chordal loop length.

On-X Life Technologies CEO Clyde Baker said: "We are pleased to provide surgeons with innovative tools designed to help make mitral valve chordal replacement more reproducible and save OR time.

"We are appreciative of the excellent team of surgeons who have helped design this product and for our excellent product development team which produced this innovation."

On-X Life produces cardiac products, including mechanical heart valves for aortic and mitral valve replacements, as well as CarbonAid and CarbonMini to prevent air embolism during open-heart surgery.
