Objet Geometries and Clearstep Laboratories have entered into a partnership for the manufacturing of clear, removable orthodontic aligners.
The partnership is aimed at bringing the advantages of digital printing technology to orthodontics.
Under the collaboration, Objet’s high resolution, 3D printing systems will be used to improve the manufacture of custom-made orthodontic clear aligners on a mass scale.
The clear aligners will consist of individual parts vacuum-formed using Objet’s printed models.
Clearstep’s orthodontic aligners, known as Clearstep Solution, are designed to align the patient’s teeth, and can be used by orthodontists and dentists as an alternative to traditional metal braces.
