The new device is designed to cater to surgeons performing complicated cataract, vitreoretinal, and other ophthalmic procedures.

The Oasis Iris Expander is a square, molded polypropylene ring with a pocket at each corner that holds the delicate ocular tissue without pinching or clamping thereby facilitating clear view during the surgical procedure and easy removal without potential tearing.

The iris returns to the normal state and function after the Oasis Iris Expander is removed.

This device is also indicated in cases where floppy iris syndrome (IFIS) is present.

Oasis Medical president Craig Delgado noted the company is committed to offering relevant solutions for eye care professionals.

"We help support the needs and growth of surgical practices by offering tools for improved patient care and optimal results," Delgado added.
