NovaBone, a developer of bone graft substitutes, has launched a bioactive synthetic bone graft - MacroPor-Si+ - to meet the needs of both orthopedic and dental surgeons.

The MacroPor-Si+ is a made up of a moldable material calcium phosphosilicate which can be fitted to the size and shape of the grafting site.

The material is suspended in an absorbable binder and its open structure of the porous component allows for rapid vascularization and mineralization.

NovaBone Sales and Marketing vice president Dennis McBride said they are proud to offer surgeons multiple options for their bone grafting needs, and continue to pioneer silicate-based grafting options.
