The North Burlington Medical Centre recently updated its facilities with a new and larger location, additional physicians and expanded medical services for the community. Nightingale On Demand will allow the Centre to transition away from paper charts to a completely electronic medical environment. It will be used by more than 30 full and part-time physicians providing family practice, pediatrics and walk-in (urgent care) medical services with over 75,000 patients visits per year.

“We chose Nightingale over other EMR software providers because it offers a more sophisticated and progressive product backed by a policy of constantly striving to improve and listen to their customers,” said Dr. Harpal Singh, MD, of the North Burlington Medical Centre. “In short, we trust Nightingale to partner with us as we embark on the transition to EMR.”

Forward-looking medical organizations such as North Burlington Medical Centre are using Nightingale to achieve state-of-the-art capabilities. Nightingale On Demand is a web based EMR and practice management system so the clinic does not need to invest money on server hardware and software or to manage system maintenance and security issues. All of these services are included in the North Burlington Medical Centre contract which is for a period of 60 months and targeted to go live in the summer of 2009.

“Nightingale is proud to be selected by this visionary group as they enhance the way healthcare is managed and delivered,” said Sam Chebib, President and CEO of Nightingale. “North Burlington Medical Centre recognizes the value of using the Nightingale EMR to manage their practice and their patients. Their investment in the Nightingale EMR was the result of an extensive analysis of the financial returns and the enhanced quality of care and additional services they can provide to their patients.

Nightingale’s EMR solution, Nightingale On Demand is a full featured EMR and practice management system that automates clinical activities such as documenting patient care, prescription writing, lab orders and results as well as the scheduling and billing of patient visits.
