Swiss pharmaceutical company Nobel Biocare has appointed Richard Laube as its CEO beginning 1 May.

Laube replaces Domenico Scala who will serve in an advisory capacity till October end, Bloomberg.com reported.

In an e-mail statement, Nobel Biocare said Laube, who has previously headed Nestle SA’s nutrition unit, will be joining Nobel on 1 April 2011.

Bloomberg quoted Nobel chairman Heino von Prondzynski as saying that Richard Laube’s appointment gives the company as successor to the CEO post who comes with the right qualifications regarding innovation and global strategy implementation.

Jefferies International analyst Stephan Gasteyger said a management change now could mean that a real turnaround is in sight, although the next quarters could still be tough.
