Medical electronic equipment developer Nihon Kohden has introduced a new bedside monitor, Life Scope G9.

Life Scope G9, which offers parameter observation, enables clinicians to rapidly and easily customize to each patient regardless of health status or care setting.

According to the company, the multimodality Life Scope G9 is fully optimized for use in any clinical setting.

Life Scope G9 provides inclusive monitoring capabilities, helping clinicians to oversee and track a comprehensive set of parameters across care areas.

It will record data even during transport, when used in conjunction with the firm’s BSM-1700 transport monitor.

The device offers immediate clinical access of patient data and drag-and-drop screen layouts, which can be oriented to clinician preference for individual patient care needs.

In addition, the device features sleep mode that darkens the bedside screen and disables ECG synch sound and alarm indicators for patient comfort.

Nihon Kohden America CEO Dr Wilson Constantine said: "Every patient has the potential to take a turn for the worse when it’s least expected.

"Because of this, we believe that every piece of equipment should include all features – both standard and premium – unlocked and ready to use at a moment’s notice."

With operations in around 120 countries, the company produces products such as pulse oximeters, arrhythmia analysis, low-invasive blood volume monitoring and wireless patient monitoring devices.
