New Mexico Software, a developer of medical IT services and solutions, has signed an agreement to provide diagnostic imaging telemedicine services for the Heart Institute of the Caribbean (HIC) in Kingston, Mandeville and Ocho Rios in Jamaica.

Under the agreement, HIC will send nuclear and other exams to the TeleRad subsidiary of New Mexico Software.

The agreement between New Mexico Software and HIC represents an innovative use of medical Internet technology to bridge the human resource gap and enhance the provision of high quality medical care in an underserved region.

HIC founder and CEO Ernest Madu said the partnership with Telerad now allows the average Jamaican to have access to international experts and world-class care without geographical limitations or additional expense.

"We are always looking to develop partnerships that align or facilitate our mission to improve access and affordability of superior healthcare locally. We are excited about this partnership with Telerad that enables us to further realize our vision at HIC," Madu said.
