NeurOptics has launched VIP-200 Variable Pupillometer to measure pupil size under varying light conditions.

The Pupillometer is a single-button activation, battery operated hand-held device which measures pupil size with no user calibration required.

The Pupillometer measures, records and reports average pupil size and standard deviation and the measurement results are displayed on the device’s color LCD screen or optional paper printout.

The VIP-200 uses infrared imaging technology to measure the pupil 30 times per second over a two-second period at scotopic, low mesopic and high mesopic light levels and provides the average pupil diameter and standard deviation with accuracy exceeding 0.1 millimeter.

Assil Eye Institute medical director Kerry Assil said they can apply Pupillometer to their cataract patients, premium IOL patients, hyperops undergoing LASIK, as well as patients seeking monovision.
