Medical device and supply chain solutions provider MSD has completed its merger with First Choice Medical Supply.

Based in Richland of Mississippi, First Choice Medical Supply distributes medical surgical supplies and ancillary products for the skilled nursing and home health segments.

With around nine distribution centers in the US, the company has nearly 3,900 customers in the long-term care (LTC), home health care, hospice and patient direct provider industries.

MSD provides business process outsourcing solutions in the form of supply chain, medical device management, and technology solutions for its customers.

The firm provides services, including formulary development, online ordering, equipment management and tracking, patient direct delivery programs, and an ambulatory pump program for the oncology marketplace.

The merger will help MSD to expand its technology and service offerings in the long term care and patient home delivery marketplaces.

MSD president and CEO Tom Burke said: "The combination of First Choice and MSD will leverage the strengths and assets of the two companies, increasing the value we collectively bring to healthcare providers across the segments we serve.”
