Manhattan's Physician Group (MPG) has selected ITelagen, a provider of electronic health record (EHR) hosting and management, to host, support and manage EHR for its medical practice.

MPG said that the newly provided solution includes hosting of patient data in ITelagen’s SAS-70 Type II certified datacenter and an extension of ITelagen’s support agreement that provides unlimited IT support for staff members.

The MPG patients are benefiting from physicians that have seamless, real-time access to the patient’s full medical record, regardless of which MPG location they’re visiting. Continuity of care is ensured, safety is improved and the patient experience is enhanced.

Likewise, the MPG physicians have the up-to-date and complete information necessary to better assess past medical histories and make the most informed treatment decisions possible.

Steven Vickner, chief information officer of MPG, said: “We are very excited about utilizing EHR technology in our medical practice and happy to have ITelagen as a partner that can provide our practice with the HIPAA secure hosting as well as IT support.”

John Keefe, chief executive officer of Itelagen, said: “Manhattan’s Physician Group is a long-time client of ITelagen and we are very excited that they have decided to further trust ITelagen to host and manage their EHR in our datacenter. By providing both IT and EHR support and now hosting the EHR in our datacenter ITelagen is truly the one-stop shop for EHR for Manhattan’s Physicians Group.”
