US-based MinuteClinics, a division of CVS Caremark, has entered into an agreement to deploy Axis-Shield's hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) testing analyzers in its 600 retail clinic sites.
Axis-Shield’s HbA1c testing analyzer is fully automated analyzer which helps MinuteClinic’s providers to collect patient’s specimen and can obtain results of the hemoglobin A1c tests in three minutes, Dark Daily reports.
The results from HbA1c tests are used by physicians to make treatment decisions, such as how to maintain or improve a diabetic’s glycemic level.
Axis-Shield said its Afinion desktop multi-assay analyzer enables immediate rapid testing, using a CLIA-waived test and also provides a laboratory-quality tests on a single point-of-care system.
