Chinese medical instrumentation manufacturer Mindray has rolled out TE Air, which the company claims to be the first wireless handheld ultrasound system.

TE Air, which is powered by the company’s eWave platform and second-generation Single Crystal technology, provides high-quality images with low power consumption.

It also features dedicated exam presets and comprehensive imaging modes to help clinicians conduct ultrasound examinations and offers accurate decision-making.

Mindray said that the TE Air is designed specifically to address the global healthcare professionals’ demand for a high-quality portable ultrasound device.

It has transformed the complicated ultrasound system into a small size device, while retaining its ability to meet higher clinical requirements.

TE Air can be easily used in multiple medical environments and delivers crisp point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) imaging, said the medical device maker.

Mindray medical imaging system business unit general manager Xujin He said: “The TE Air has made a historic breakthrough in the image quality level of handheld ultrasound, integrating professional-level image quality into a small and light wireless system.

“Its premium performance and wireless portability allow clinicians to diagnose anytime and anywhere with confidence.”

TE Air comes with a wire-free design and compact size that easily fits in a pocket, high disinfection tolerance, and flexible charging for extreme mobility.

Its IP68-level waterproof and dustproof design enables the device to be fully immersible for high-level disinfection and is suitable for hospital infection control.

In addition, its unique Air Capsule serves as a protective case and a portable wireless charger, which takes only 35 minutes to fast charge the device.

Mindray offers the TE Air App, available for Android and iOS, which allows one-handed operation in any location.

The device can connect with advanced devices such as the Mindray TEX20 Ultrasound System and can easily integrate with hospital information systems to help improve workflow.

Furthermore, TE Air can save the de-identified data it has collected and can share it to address the needs of teaching, training, consultation, and case sharing.

Last month, Mindray rolled out its next-generation BeneHeart series defibrillators, BeneHeart D60 and D30, to raise the standards for resuscitation.
