Merit Medical wins FDA approval for ONE Snare system

Merit Medical Systems has gained US marketing rights for its ONE Snare Endovascular Snare system, following the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) approval.

Single-loop snare system is designed to provide both accuracy and reliability for effective foreign body manipulation and retrieval.

Merit chairman and chief executive officer Fred Lampropoulos said, "This FDA clearance will provide customers the opportunity to buy the single-loop ONE Snare(TM) or the triple-loop EN Snare(R), both of which have distinct clinical uses and benefits."

The company is planning to launch the ONE Snare system in January 2013.

Merit Medical Systems in US is involved in developing and distributing proprietary disposable medical devices, which are used in cardiology, radiology and endoscopy procedures.
