Medtronic has developed a new MAST MIDLF procedure used during minimally invasive spinal fusion surgeries.
The new procedure utilizes proprietary retractor and cortical bone screw fixation and works through a midline laminectomy approach enabling surgeon to access the spine in the middle lower back, and eliminates work through a tubular retractor.
The procedure can also be used with the company’s surgical navigation and imaging systems.
The MAST MIDLF aids hospital staff and physician to avoid injury to nerves by decreased exposure to radiation.
