Medline Industries, a privately held manufacturer and distributor of healthcare products, expanded its patient safety solutions with the acquisition of the PerfecTemp patient warming system from LMA North America.
PerfecTemp is an OR table pad that incorporates both pressure-reducing high-tech material to reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers and a warming system to combat hypothermia.
PerfecTemp is constructed with materials specifically designed to reduce the risk of pressure ulcer formation, which can cause complications.
PerfecTemp is the only warming system available that monitors the temperature delivered to the patient at the point of contact between the pad and the patient’s skin, improving patient safety by ensuring that the patient’s temperature is constantly monitored and maintained to the desired level to sustain normal body temperature, LMA North America said.
Medline has been distributing medical and surgical supplies in the US, serving as the primary distributor to over 450 major hospitals and healthcare systems.
It has a network of 34 distribution centers across the US, as well as a transportation fleet with over 180 vehicles in a variety of sizes to fit customers’ specific delivery needs.
