Mediware Information Systems has acquired assets of CareCentric, a provider of healthcare solutions to home health, hospice, home medical equipment and pharmacy/infusion providers.
Mediware plans to integrate the CareCentric business with its existing Alternate Care Solutions (ACS) product line that already supports almost 400 customer facilities.
Mediware formed ACS in March 2010 following the December 2009 acquisition of Healthcare Automation and Advantage Reimbursement and, the November 2008 acquisition of Hann’s On Software.
Mediware’s ACS group is led by Ken Pereira, who was formerly the CEO of Healthcare Automation.
Mediware president and CEO Thomas Mann said providing these services outside the hospital is more cost effective and is simply more appealing to patients.
