Mauna Kea Technologies, inventor of Cellvizio, the multidisciplinary confocal laser endomicroscopy platform, today announced that its exclusive partner in Urology, Cook Medical, introduced the Cellvizio at the American Urological Association (AUA) annual meeting taking place in San Diego, CA from May 6-10, 2016.

The AUA meeting is one of the largest gathering of urologists in the world, providing unparalleled access to groundbreaking research, new guidelines and the latest advances in urologic medicine.

Cook Medical is featuring the Cellvizio system alongside its other urology products on its booth and Skill Lab, an interactive suite where physicians can get hands on experience with the technology at its booth (#2632) at the AUA meeting.

Sacha Loiseau, Ph.D., Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mauna Kea Technologies added, "We are excited that Cook Medical is displaying the Cellvizio technology at the AUA meeting, which should provide significant exposure for the technology to support a successful launch in the U.S. market in the upcoming weeks.

We have been working closely with the Cook team to prepare for this launch and have been pleased with their engagement and support. This U.S. introduction builds on the European one in March, and is expected to drive momentum for new system sales this year."

In December 2015, Mauna Kea entered into a global multi-year commercialization partnership with Cook Medical, a world leader in medical devices and supplies for urology applications. In March, Cook Medical showcased the Cellvizio system in Europe at the 31st Annual EAU Congress in Munich.
