Medical Alarm Concepts (MAC), a manufacturer of MediPendant, a fully-monitored medical alarm system, has partnered with a software company to develop a private-label, proprietary monitoring software solution for the home healthcare/hospital industry.
MAC said that the software is designed for hospitals and large, nationally-based healthcare companies to provide the patients with personal emergency response system hardware to take home with them when they are discharged from the facility.
The software gives patients some peace of mind, knowing that they can get help immediately if needed and the monitoring services for medical alarms typically had to go through an independent call center/central station.
The medical alarm will be monitored directly by trained hospital staff members, instead of an independent call center.
MAC said that the implementation of the software package into several hospitals is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2011.
